Balanced Babies Parent-Child Classes are based on the principles of the Pikler® approach - focusing on respectful relationships, free movement and self-chosen play in the care of the very young child.

Respectful care and partnership - allowing babies to feel secure and valued as equal human beings, guided by you, their significant adults.

The innate, natural unfolding of movement development - allowing time to reach gross motor milestones at the child’s own pace, building healthy muscle tone, self-confidence and autonomy.

Self-chosen, uninterrupted play in a safe environment - allowing curiosity and interest to blossom from the very beginning.

YES SPACE for the Children

  • Ignite curiosity and a love of learning from the very beginning.

  • Trust your child's natural abilities and let physical milestones unfold at their own pace.

  • Build self-confidence, awareness and autonomy through respectful care.

When play is self-chosen, an infant or toddler can explore freely, sometimes playing for prolonged periods with the same object. In my groups, almost everything is allowed, with guidance given for how to handle the trickier situations which sometimes naturally arise.

    PARENT SPACE for You

  • Come together with like-minded, gentle parents.

  • Learn from me - an experienced parent educator running Pikler®-inspired classes and workshops for over 10 years.

  • Appreciate watching your little one enjoy a carefully created safe space to play.

Having a highly experienced class leader to intervene and guide, only where necessary, means parents can relax and take the time to observe how their children interact with others, the playthings at hand, and the environment. What can they already do? What are their interests?

    Together, we can find out…
